Facilitator
Hope Alive for Possibilities Initiative (HAPI) is looking for a qualified individual to facilitate a consultative meeting with stakeholders and Leadership of JONAPWD in Benue state which is aimed at the domestication of a disability law in state.
HAPI is a woman led organization of persons with disabilities that works to facilitate the inclusion of, and achievement of rights for women and girls with disabilities in line with human rights frameworks such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Global Disability Summit commitments, Africa 2063 Agenda and Nigeria Disability Act. Inline with our mission, we are implementing a project to push for the enactment of a disability law in Benue State, North-Central Nigeria in line with CRPD Articles 33 (National implementation and monitoring), and 5 (Equality and non-discrimination); and SDGs Goals 10 (Reduced Inequality) and 16 (Strong institutions and Cities).
The primary objective of this consultancy is to review and harmonize previous works done on disability law in Benue State, prepare a Policy Brief for our engagements and provide technical assistance and guidance in drafting a disability bill.
The consultant responsibilities will include to work in hands with designated HAPI staffs in reviewing laws and policies in Benue State, and review any draft Bill for compliance with the CRPD. The consultant will facilitate a stakeholders consultative meeting to review and harmonize previous works done on disability law in the State, and develop Policy brief for use during advocacy.
The consultant is expected to deliver the following:
Interactive sessions
A two-day meeting agenda.
Evaluation forms for participants to provide feedback.
Develop a policy brief
A comprehensive meeting report highlighting key outcomes and recommendations for future interventions.
Review policies and laws
The consultative meeting is expected to take place on the 13th and 14th march, 2024 at Benue Metropolitan hotel Makurdi, Benue state.

Legal Consultant
HAPI is looking for a qualified individual to facilitate a Training on legislative process and strategic advocacy for staff and volunteers.
The primary objective of this consultancy is to equip the project team with comprehensive knowledge on legislative process and strategic advocacy to effectively engage with policy and law makers in Benue sate which is aimed at the domestication of disability law in Benue state to protect the rights of persons with disabilities.
The facilitators responsibilities will include developing training materials and training agenda, and facilitating the capacity-building workshop. The workshop will cover various aspects of legislative processes, advocacy, allies’ identification, stakeholders mapping, including interactive sessions and group activities.
The consultant is expected to deliver the following:
Training materials, including interactive slides
A one-day workshop agenda.
Evaluation forms for participants to provide feedback.
Actionable legislative advocacy engagement plans
A comprehensive workshop report highlighting key outcomes and recommendations for future interventions.
The capacity-building workshop will be conducted in a day
